Job summary

The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is seeking a part-time College Aide to support the Outreach Unit within the Bureau of Public Health Clinics. The role involves assisting with community outreach to providers and student groups, and helping meet program goals and deliverables.

You will gain exposure to public health equity initiatives, maintain PHPC data, and help promote safer sex resources across campuses.

Qualifications

• Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school; employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.
• For Assignment Level II (Information Technology): IT course of study with 9 semester credits in an acceptable field.
• For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow): IT course of study with 9 semester credits; appointments via Technology Steering Committee.

Responsibilities

• Investigating strategies to enhance our existing CUNY student outreach methods.
• Maintaining an up-to-date calendar with all planned outreach activities.
• Logging activities in city database Public Health Partners Connect (PHPC) within 2 business days.
• Conducting periodic quality assurance checks on PHPC data.
• Follow up on student-focused listservs to ensure services, locations, and hours are posted correctly.
• Sharing promotional materials during student and campus activities and events.
• Ensuring increased access to safer sex supplies across campuses.
• Attending pre-identified community and coalition meetings.
• Assesses student engagement work to strategize outreach with a racial equity lens.
• Create a transition document detailing all aspects of the project.
