Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Traveling Wind Technician for a contract position through WECTEC Staffing Services. You will diagnose wind turbine generator and control system issues, climb towers, and inspect, repair, and test electrical components to ensure proper operation.

You will collaborate with engineers, train end-users and distributors, and support wind farm construction and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• GWO BST and ART certificate preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Background check and drug screening required.
• Valid Driver’s License required to operate company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems involving wind turbine generators or control systems.
• Climb wind turbine towers to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Test electrical components of wind systems with meters and testing devices.
• Start or restart wind turbine generator systems to ensure proper operations.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical malfunctions related to wind systems.
• Maintain inventories of tools and spare parts for repair and installation.
