Job summary

WECTEC Staffing Services LLC, a Westinghouse subsidiary, seeks a Field Welding Specialist in Manning, SC to provide hands-on welding expertise in the field, ensuring compliance with codes and customer requirements. The role includes training welders, supervising crews, and maintaining quality across projects, including international work in France.

You will report to the site manager and travel to France as needed, supporting outage, maintenance, and construction welding projects at customer

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial, power generation, nuclear, manufacturing, or heavy industrial welding applications.
• Knowledge of applicable welding codes and standards, including ASME and AWS.
• Demonstrated leadership supervising field personnel.
• Experience training welders in classroom and field environments.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and welding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee welding, repair, fabrication, and installation following procedures, drawings, specs.
• Oversee welding crews and coordinate daily work to meet safety and schedule.
• Train and develop welders and technicians in techniques and safety.
• Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback for improvement.
• Conduct on-the-job training and qualification preparation for personnel.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Review work packages and documents for technical accuracy and readiness for field execution.
• Monitor welding quality and implement corrective actions.
• Support field troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, QA, and customers for project success.
• Maintain records of welding activities, inspections, and training.
