Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company’s WECTEC Staffing Services seeks a Field Welding Specialist to provide hands-on technical expertise, oversee field welding activities, and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and customer requirements. You will train and mentor field welders, coordinate with project teams, travel to France, and support outages and construction while maintaining safety and quality.

You will report to the site Manager and travel to France as needed, supporting US and France

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial, power generation, nuclear, manufacturing, or heavy industrial welding.
• Knowledge of ASME, AWS codes and customer requirements.
• Leadership experience supervising field personnel.
• Experience training welders in classroom and field environments.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and welding procedures.
• Willing to travel and work flexible schedules, including outages.
• Current welding certifications or qualifications preferred.
• Passport expiring within 6 months.
• Pass a nuclear background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee welding, repair, fabrication and installation following procedures and codes.
• Oversee welding crews and coordinate daily work to meet safety and schedule targets.
• Train and develop welders and technicians on techniques and quality standards.
• Evaluate performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
• Review work packages and welding procedures for readiness and accuracy.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering and customer representatives.
• Maintain records of welding activities, inspections and training.
