Job summary

UES in California is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our team of engineers, inspectors, and technicians. You will inspect welded structures on job sites, verify compliance with industry standards and project specs, and collaborate with engineers to uphold welding best practices.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with a welding certificate program, AWS certification preferred, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with a completed welding certificate program or vocational training.
• AWS or similar welding certification, preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct welding inspections at job sites and submit accurate reports.
• Study and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and manuals to understand project requirements.
• Operate and maintain a motor vehicle, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Collaborate with fabricators, engineers, and supervisors to ensure project quality and completion per specifications.
• Communicate with dispatching and/or field supervisor, advising of current job status and locations as required.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to protect oneself and others in the work environment.
