Job summary

Insight Global in Texas is seeking a Welding Inspector to perform visual inspections of structural steel and verify compliance with AWS D1.1 and project drawings. This role is field-based, requiring travel to site locations and coordination with contractors.

You will document findings daily, review weld procedures and qualifications, and communicate issues to project teams. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and professional client interaction with 40–60 hour weeks.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of welding inspection experience on structural steel (D1.1).
• CAWI or CWI certification required.
• ICC certifications.
• NICET Level II certifications.
• NDT certifications: UT, MT, PT, RT, VT.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual welding inspections on structural steel per project requirements and AWS D1.1.
• Inspect welds, materials, and fabrication/erection work for compliance with drawings and specs.
• Document findings and prepare daily field reports.
• Identify welding deficiencies and communicate findings to project/site personnel.
• Coordinate with contractors and field teams on inspection activities.
• Review welding procedures, welder qualifications, and related docs.
• Support commercial construction and large data center projects in West Texas.
• Work primarily in the field with occasional overnight travel.
• Travel to project sites as needed, with potential to support broader region.
• Maintain safety, quality, and professional client interaction while working independently.
• Schedule: Approximately 40-60 hours per week.
