Job summary

SJ Hamill Construction is seeking a skilled Welder to perform basic welding and fabrication for structural components on construction projects. You will read shop drawings, measure, cut, fit and weld parts per tolerances and quality standards.

Responsibilities include interpreting prints, handling materials on-site, and operating welding and cutting tools with safety at the forefront. Candidates should have field welding experience and be able to obtain a TWIC if needed.

Qualifications

• Certified Welder with field operation experience.
• Ability to read prints and sketches for fabrication.
• Must pass AWS test on a one-inch groove in horizontal position.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform standard manual tasks.
• Experience with heavy flux core wire feed welding.
• TWIC card preferred or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Interpret prints and sketches for layout and welding of structural steel.
• Handle materials on-site and on the job site as needed.
• Operate welding equipment, cutting torch, grinders and cranes safely.
• Follow safety rules and wear PPE per company policy.
