SJ Hamill Construction, LLC is seeking a skilled Welder to join our field team in Charleston, SC. You will read shop drawings, prepare and weld structural steel components, and ensure fit and tolerances meet project specs.

This role requires certification in field welding, ability to interpret prints, perform layout, and pass AWS tests. You must lift up to 50 pounds and work at remote sites with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• Certified Welder with field operations experience.
• Ability to read prints and perform layout for structural steel fabrication.
• Must pass AWS welding test (horizontal position, 1-inch groove).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work at remote job sites.
• TWIC card preferred but not required; ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Interpret prints and perform layout and welding for structural steel fabrication.
• Handle materials and maintain jobsite cleanliness and safety.
• Operate welding equipment and related tools, including cutting torch and overhead crane.
• Follow safety rules and PPE requirements.
