Job summary

Middlesex Water Company in Delaware seeks a Distribution Utility Worker III to support maintenance, repair, and inspection of fire hydrants, water distribution valves and components. You will assist in installing and repairing water service lines, meters, and pits, and aid in sewer collection system repairs.

Applicants should be able to work with others, learn equipment operation, and meet safety policies. A valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a Class A CDL within a year are required;

Qualifications

• Ability to work with others and follow directions.
• Willingness to learn to operate backhoe, trencher, tamper and sewer snake.
• Basic computer skills to complete timesheets and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of water service connections.
• Aids in the repair of sewer collection systems.
• Assist in repairing water leaks, damaged meter pits, and other water system components.
• Help in water main flushing operations.
