Job summary

USIC seeks motivated individuals for field-location work locating underground utilities in designated areas. You will locate utilities such as telecommunications, electric, gas, water, and sewer, marking and documenting each locate with photos.

Daytime, full-time positions with overtime, weekend and on-call shifts as needed. Training is 100% paid; company vehicle, fuel card, and a tech-enabled workflow support your daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Proficiency with technology.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
• Able to read locate tickets, maps and prints.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities (telecommunications, electric, gas, water, sewer) accurately and safely.
• Search designated areas and mark locations with documentation and photos.
• Complete locate tickets and related paperwork; meet 48-hour turnaround for many locates.
• Work daytime, full-time with overtime, weekends and on-call shifts as needed.
