Job summary

GridHawk LLC is seeking a Locate Technician to accurately locate underground facilities and document locations. Field work may include observing, locating, marking, and verifying utilities within various terrains and weather conditions.

The role supports DOT drug testing, background checks, and working with a supervisor or in a team. A valid driver’s license and physical ability are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• State driver's license required.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Ability to read, interpret, and decipher multiple types of prints.
• Vacuum truck experience preferred.
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk/stand for multiple hours a day.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Pass a background screening (no violations within the last 5 years).
• Pass a DOT drug test.

Responsibilities

• Locates underground facilities by using a transmitter and hooking up to a buried facility, pedestal, etc.
• Works in and walks over all types of terrain in construction zones and various areas in all weather conditions.
• Interprets job order tickets, blueprints and maps to efficiently route and perform duties.
• Performs locates and emergency/on-call locates during regular, overtime and holiday hours as necessary.
• Communicates with customers, co‑employees and third parties to maintain professional interactions.
• Collaborates with management team, contractor and utility customer to ensure a damage‑free environment.
