Job summary

ELM Utility Services is seeking a Utility Locate Technician in Canton, Ohio. You will locate and mark underground utilities for safe excavation, using marking paint, flags, and mobile systems.

You will operate a company vehicle as your daily mobile office and handle a route of locate requests. Starting wages are $23.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience, with a comprehensive rewards package and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Safety-Sensitive DOT position requiring compliance with Federal DOT regulations.
• High School Diploma or GED & 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Mark and locate underground utilities outdoors using marking materials and mobile tasks.
• Complete daily route of locate requests independently with company vehicle.
• Receive and use the mobile work system to access tasks and updates.
• Work on-call rotation and overtime, including nights and weekends when needed.
