Kids for the Future is seeking a Utility Inspector to perform detailed inspections of underground and above-ground utility infrastructure, with extensive travel across Missouri and Illinois. You will collect data via handheld devices, ensure compliance with safety and project standards, and interact with property owners during inspections.

The role emphasizes safety, accurate reporting, and professional communication, with lodging provided by the company and frequent travel required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in utilities, inspection, locating, construction, or fieldwork preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently across multiple job sites.
• Strong communication and customer interaction skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrain types.
• Willingness to travel regularly and stay in company-provided lodging.
• Must pass drug screen and background check; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety as the number one priority, following all safety procedures and PPE.
• Prioritize high-quality work, ensuring inspections, data collection and reporting meet standards.
• Perform daily inspections of utility poles across rural, suburban and metro areas in MO/IL.
• Collect inspection data using a handheld device and upload data daily.
• Identify deficiencies, hazards, code violations, or noncompliant work and report to management.
• Communicate professionally with local residents to explain inspections and obtain access.
• Respect and protect customer property, avoiding damage to landscaping or structures.
