Job summary

Brevard County is seeking a skilled inspector to perform technical work inspecting utility construction projects, ensuring compliance with department criteria, drawings, and specifications. Flexible schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

Position is a permanent full-time role with potential for overtime and requires valid Florida driver's license and MOT/TTC certification within six months.

Qualifications

• Two years of college-level credit with major coursework in Construction Management or closely related field plus three years of utility construction experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus five years of field experience in utility construction, maintenance, and/or inspection; substitutions allowed year-for-year.

Responsibilities

• Performs experienced technical work inspecting utility construction projects to observe and document whether contractors perform all work in accordance with Department criteria, approved drawings, and specifications.
