Job summary

Farm Family is seeking an Underwriting Consultant, Field, Ag & Casualty, Farm to join our team with a home office in one of several states and travel as needed. You will underwrite new submissions, promote our brand to agents, and represent Farm Family in meetings to enhance the customer experience.

You will educate and coach agents on underwriting guidelines and products, build a strong submission pipeline, and leverage market insights to grow business.

Qualifications

• Experience in underwriting Commercial Ag/Farm, Auto, Property & Casualty lines and related risk management.
• Strong negotiation and underwriting skills.
• Adaptable and thriving in a dynamic market.
• Sharp analytical skills for financial statements and data.
• Significant agent communication, networking, and relationship-building aptitude.
• Disciplined focus on execution, accuracy, and timely follow-through.
• Outstanding organization and time management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite new submissions within your territory to ensure profitable growth.
• Promote brand consistency and clearly communicate products and services to agents and brokers.
• Represent Farm Family in client and agent meetings with professionalism.
• Educate, coach, and train agents on underwriting procedures, philosophy, and products.
• Build and manage a strong submission pipeline aligned with goals.
• Leverage market insights and your network to generate business and cross-sell.
