Job summary

Flock Safety, Inc. seeks an on-site hardware engineer to ensure 24/7 reliability of drones and docking infrastructure at our Atlanta facility. You will diagnose complex fleet issues, monitor telemetry, and lead hands-on bring-up and field validation of new hardware.

You will translate edge-case failures into actionable feedback for engineering, and help maintain SOPs and preventative maintenance for a global fleet. Up to 25% travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or proven hands-on experience in the UAS/Robotics space.
• 3+ years troubleshooting and maintaining Unmanned Aerial Systems, including multi-rotor flight hardware and autopilot firmware.
• Hands-on proficiency with hardware diagnostic tools (Multimeters, Oscilloscopes) and telemetry/monitoring suites (Grafana, Foxglove, or similar).
• Deep familiarity with GPS, LTE, RF communications systems, and signal strength/throughput troubleshooting between UAS hardware and ground infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose & Triage Complex Fleet Issues
• Telemetry & Analytics Monitoring using Foxglove and Grafana, establishing KPIs and real-time dashboards.
• Hardware Bring-Up & Field Validation of docking hardware and drone airframes to ensure 24/7 reliability.
• Engineering Feedback Loops by translating hardware failures into clear bug reports and design feedback.
• Maintenance & Support Playbooks by developing and refining preventative inspection schedules and SOPs.
