Job summary

SAM is seeking a Field Inspector/CEI to support construction-phase inspections nationwide. You will inspect methods, oversee work to ensure conformance with plans, and communicate with clients including governmental agencies and contractors.

Responsibilities include daily reporting, testing coordination, and adherence to DOT specs. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year CEI experience, ability to read plans, and solid computer skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of CEI experience on transportation projects.
• Able to read and interpret plans, specifications and applicable standards.
• Must have computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Field testing certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspection and oversight of construction activities
• Maintain daily reports and records of project progress
• Coordinate with contractors and communicate with all parties
• Review contract documents for compliance with regulations and project requirements
• Assist with materials sampling and testing and verify testing performed
• Verify accuracy of payment requests and invoicing for completed work
• Travel for extended periods as needed
