Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Line Mechanic A to support transmission and distribution work around Hurricane, WV. The role requires climbing, bucket work, and operating line trucks with a focus on safety and adherence to company procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• No previous work experience required; line work experience or line school preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform duties following the Company's safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
• Assemble, install, maintain, remove and inspect conductors and equipment on overhead facilities; operate from bucket trucks or ladders as needed.
• Operate line trucks and related equipment; transport personnel and materials to and from work locations.
• Maintain records and assist in training of other employees.
• Attend required training and participate in safety assessments as assigned.
