Job summary

Service Electric Company seeks a Transformer Technician for safe, field-based service of power and distribution transformers. The role covers assembly, installation, testing, inspection, and repair in variable field environments with extensive travel and non-standard schedules.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, transformer service experience, and strong communication and teamwork skills. OSHA 30 and CPR/First Aid training are provided if needed, with CDL recommended.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/apprenticeship training preferred.
• Experience in transformer service or related electrical field preferred.
• Strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills.
• OSHA 30, NFPA-70, and CPR/First Aid training provided if not already certified.
• Class A CDL recommended.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical field service tasks with minimal supervision.
• Assemble, install, and maintain power and distribution transformers.
• Interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and factory manuals.
• Operate transformer oil processing equipment and document procedures.
• Support or perform transformer testing and document results.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Lead and mentor junior staff when required.
