Job summary

MasTec Utility Services in Austin, Texas, seeks a Traffic Signal Technician to support traffic signal construction and maintenance. The role will involve underground infrastructure work, above-ground installations, and retrofit projects across Texas with emphasis on safety standards and efficient operations.

Typical duties include installing and repairing traffic signals, wiring, and lighting systems while maintaining equipment and adhering to project specifications.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in traffic signal construction or traffic signal maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing roadway lighting systems; high mast lighting experience preferred.
• Ability to perform hands-on installation and maintenance using required tools while working at heights, in confined spaces, near moving traffic, and in varying weather conditions.
• Experience operating bucket trucks or other aerial lift equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic signal construction and maintenance in accordance with safety standards and procedures.
• Install, maintain, and retrofit underground infrastructure, traffic signals, and related components.
• Perform highway lighting maintenance including troubleshooting and repair.
• Maintain a constant focus on safety in all job functions.
• Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment organized and in good condition.
