Job summary

Northern Plains Railroad, Inc. in Lansford, ND is seeking a Track Inspector to perform track inspections, enforce safety standards, and coordinate repairs to ensure safe train movements.

The role requires reporting unsafe conditions immediately and coordinating with field crews. Responsibilities include daily briefings, monitoring train movements and weather, documenting inspections to FRA standards, and arranging weekend/overtime inspections as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of track maintenance experience (GCOR, OTS, CWR, and FRA training).
• Ability to perform outdoor physical labor in all weather conditions.
• Wear safety equipment as required by the company.

Responsibilities

• Inspect all track structures and anything likely to endanger or delay train movements.
• Participate in daily job briefings with section crews and hold additional briefings as conditions change.
• Monitor train movements and weather to coordinate regular and weather-related inspections.
• Make minor repairs and assist in coordinating emergency repairs.
• Detect and report changing track conditions and recommend early resolution.
