Job summary

The Haskell Company invites applications for a Construction Layout Specialist. The role focuses on managing construction surveying layout execution and as-built reality capture in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform self-perform services and QA/QC of sub-contractors, using Robotic Total Station and other survey tools. Responsibilities include establishing and transferring control points, field layout, plan reading, data transfer, and continuous collaboration with VDC resources and field

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in construction related work or training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee establishment and implementation of job-related control points & bench marks provided by outside surveyors.
• Establish additional control points, grid lines for piping, equipment, structures, wall lines, columns and anchor bolts as needed.
• Transfer benchmarks as needed.
• Identify and resolve field issues, including technical equipment issues and field data discrepancies.
• Execute all layout or as-built tasks, including pre-planning before activities.
• Apply mathematical functions to layout and engineering tasks.
• Perform layout techniques using tapes, builders levels, transits and robotic total station.
• Interpret contract documents, design models and construction models to perform tasks.
• Review and maintain documents relating to dimensions and changes (field orders, change orders, RFIs).
• Coordinate with VDC resources and equipment manufacturers to resolve issues.
• Maintain field notes, uploads and daily reports, and transmit field data to the office VDC team.
• Communicate with field management about job needs for new and ongoing work.
• Coordinate with VDC/BIM team on project goals and capabilities.
• Review initial field data distributions and layout drawings before field work.
• Follow best practices for construction surveying and reality capture including laser scanning.
• Travel for field work and related office tasks as needed to support schedule.
