Job summary

Vylor, Inc. invites applications for a Field Testing Specialist at our Orange City, IA research center. You will lead seasonal staff and manage seed handling, data collection, and plot operations across multiple projects.

The role requires field operations experience, safety leadership, and strong collaboration across teams. Visa sponsorship is not available; travel and extended hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or related field preferred; hands-on experience acceptable.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform physical field work.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain CMV license for trailer work.
• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Participate in seed handling operations: packaging, shelling, treating, requests, shipping and receiving.
• Maintain seed inventories for local and external research programs.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot field equipment used in planting, data collection, and harvest.
• Collect, manage and verify high-quality research data per protocols and data quality standards.
• Supervise seasonal employees, ensure safety and adherence to protocols.
• Support or lead activities like experiment planning, plot planting, data collection, plot management, pollination, and machine harvesting.
• Demonstrate core values through ethical conduct and teamwork.
• Support site safety initiatives for a safe work environment.
