Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Rochester, NY is seeking an Engineering Technician B to join the MCC Engineering Field Test Validation Team. You will verify requirements and validate operational and mission scenarios by executing field test exercises with a user-oriented focus.

Responsibilities include testing products in customer scenarios, contributing to test plans, setting up data and voice equipment, generating TRs, and collaborating with development engineers to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-secondary/associate degree with 0–2 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Test L3Harris products and systems in customer scenarios with an end-user focus.
• Contribute to test plans and procedures.
• Set up, configuration, and operation of sophisticated data and voice communication equipment.
• Generate trouble reports (TRs) to communicate issues found and characterize repeatability.
• Work with development engineers to suggest and support TR resolutions.
• Refine team procedures, practices, and collection and reporting of performance data to ensure continuous improvement in the execution of tests.
• May support new business pursuit activities including demos, proposals, generation of applications info (e.g. diagrams, write-ups, etc.), and/or occasional travel and/or customer interaction to support these activities.
• Candidates should be aware that additional requirements associated with conducting on-air testing of tactical radios also may apply.
• These include working outside in virtually all-weather conditions applicable to the Rochester, NY area and other physical requirements such as occasional lifting and installing equipment and working in and around vehicles.
• Driving L3Harris vehicles is a requirement of the job.
