Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Telecommunication Inspector for our Las Vegas, NV office, with consideration for Reno, NV. This field position involves energized substations, fiber optics, OPGW, ADSS, SCADA, and related telecom systems across Nevada, with up to 100% travel.

You will support engineers, project managers, and construction teams by inspecting, documenting, and ensuring compliance with plans, standards, and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9 years post-education field experience in construction inspection.
• Experience with transmission/substation telecom facilities including OPGW/ADSS fiber networks.
• Strong technical writing and ability to interpret construction drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of telecom systems on transmission and substation projects.
• Evaluate workmanship, materials, installation practices, and testing results for compliance.
• Prepare inspection reports, punch lists, as-builts, and technical documentation.
• Mentor junior inspection personnel and provide guidance on telecom practices.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and contractors to plan inspections and testing.
• Assist with review of contractor pay quantities and project milestones.
