Job summary

WSP is seeking a Telecommunication Inspector to support our Las Vegas, NV office, with additional consideration for Reno, NV. The role involves field inspections of telecom systems for electric transmission and substation projects, including fiber optic networks and SCADA infrastructure.

Responsibilities include generating detailed inspection reports, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and collaborating with engineers, project managers, and contractors across multiple sites with up to

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 9+ years post-education experience in construction inspection.
• Knowledge of telecom facilities and installations including Microwave, fiber, OPGW/ADSS.
• Experience with energized facilities and utility safety standards.
• Valid state driver’s license; field inspection principles and codes know-how.
• Strong written communication, technical writing, and documentation skills.
• Ability to direct field staff and coordinate with engineers, PMs, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections on telecom systems for transmission and substation projects.
• Generate inspection reports, testing summaries, punch lists, and as-built documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, relay/SCADA teams, and contractors.
• Monitor schedules, safety, QA, and contract compliance; document progress and actions.
• Mentor junior inspection personnel and provide technical guidance.
