Job summary

Astound is seeking an Outside Plant Technician to detect, troubleshoot, and restore outages across data, video, and voice services. You will handle emergency restoration of coaxial and fiber, maintain power and splices, and document daily activities while supporting a 24/7 on-call rotation.

The role requires 2+ years in telecom field work, a valid driver's license, and strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in telecom field work, cabling, construction, or utilities (coax, fiber, or electrical).
• Maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret maps and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages for data, video, and telephone.
• Perform emergency restoration of coaxial and fiber optic cabling, including aerial and underground.
• Maintain documentation such as work orders and daily logs.
• Operate bucket trucks and other field equipment safely.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Install, repair, and replace coaxial and fiber optic cabling.
