Job summary

Truvista Fiber is seeking an experienced telecommunications installer/repair technician to install and service fiber and coax drops, set-top boxes, and network interfaces at customer premises. The role involves climbing, entering attics or crawlspaces, and working outdoors in all weather, with a valid driver’s license and possible DOT certification.

Willingness to work on-call and after hours is required. The candidate should have 3–5 years in telecom installation/repair, strong problem-solving

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience with telecommunications installation/repair preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Must be eligible and willing to obtain any required medical certification and/or license needed to operate a commercial vehicle.
• Must pass pre-employment background check, to include driver history, medical and drug test, and criminal history.
• Must be capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions.
• Must be available to work outside normal business hours when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Installs new services and equipment for subscribers by installing drop wires and network interface devices.
• Wires new systems using appropriate tools.
• Installs and maintains equipment including Cable TV and FTTH from pole to residence; may enter attics or crawlspaces.
• Splices cables and measures signal strength using electronic equipment.
• May use bucket trucks or climb poles; willing to work from various heights.
• Inspects or tests lines or cables to assess transmission characteristics and locate faults.
• Completes installation and repair reports; communicates options with customers.
• Will participate in ON CALL rotation including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Will perform duties after normal hours as needed.
