Job summary

sstjobs is seeking an entry-level Field Technician to support the operation and maintenance of decentralized wastewater treatment systems. You will travel to DWTU stations, collect samples, perform basic maintenance, and ensure data is properly documented.

A wastewater operator license is desirable but not required; you must be able to obtain one within a year. You will drive to stations, monitor data, respond to alarms, and communicate findings daily by email.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain wastewater operator license within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Drive to DWTU stations to collect process and compliance samples.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks and small repairs as directed by the Licensed Operation Supervisor.
• Monitor and record operational data such as flow rates, chemical levels, and equipment status at each station.
• Respond to system alarms, troubleshoot basic issues, and escalate more complex problems as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the operations team, sending daily reports and responding to requests via email.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Assist with equipment inspections and operational checks.
• Collect and maintain accurate records of fieldwork, including photos, data logs, and compliance forms.
• Support the team with on-call responsibilities for urgent system alarms or repairs.
