Job summary

LUMA Energy in Puerto Rico is seeking a Field Vegetation Management Specialist to oversee vegetation control near transmission and distribution lines. You will verify field work, coordinate with contractors, perform quality audits, and support outage restoration when needed.

The role requires 1–3 years in vegetation management or related fields, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently in outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical diploma or associate degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, Biology, or Agronomy; equivalent experience acceptable.
• Experience: 1–3 years in vegetation management, natural resources, field operations, arboriculture, or environmental work.
• Familiarity with vegetation management processes and maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field assessment of vegetation near transmission and distribution circuits.
• Notify property owners of planned vegetation work and negotiate access.
• Support foremen and crews in clarifying prescribed work and standards.
• Perform post-work quality inspections and safety oversight.
• Assist in storm restoration tasks and drills when needed.
