Job summary

A Beep, LLC in Joliet, IL is seeking a Communications Service Technician and Two-Way Radio Technician to install, test, repair, and modify radio infrastructures at customer sites or at the shop.

The role requires 3–5 years of radio experience, knowledge of two-way radio theory, and the ability to program and troubleshoot complex systems; a 2-year electronics degree or military training is preferred. Overtime and field work may be needed; hours are Mon–Fri 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Must have 3-5 years of experience in radio and communication.
• Extensive knowledge of two-way radio theory and communications systems.
• Ability to program, troubleshoot and perform diagnostics on complex radio systems.
• Knowledge of battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, mulitcouplers and duplexers, basic networking.
• 2-year degree in electronics or related field or comparable military training and/or experience
• Candidates must possess clean driving record and valid driver's license.
• FCC General Radio-Telephone License or PCIA (NABER) certification is a plus

Responsibilities

• Installation, preventative maintenance, testing, repairing and modifying various two-way radio infrastructures.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, discuss, and resolve questions and problems with customers on site or at shop location.
• Repairing, maintaining, modifying and programming two-way radio equipment and systems; troubleshoot customer equipment problems.
• Analyze and comprehend diagnostic test results to repair and program radios and wireless equipment.
