Job summary

RS&H, Inc. is seeking a Field Technician Ancillary Structures Inspection in Novi, MI. This year-round role involves inspecting retaining walls, sign structures, high-mast lighting, towers, and other assets, with travel across Michigan as needed.

You will document conditions, read and interpret plans, and prepare daily field reports while operating company vehicles and equipment. A high school diploma and 12 years of field experience are required, with OSHA 10 preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 12 years of relevant field experience.
• Ability to read/interpret construction plans, drawings, specs.
• Valid driver’s license, insurable, able to operate company vehicle.
• Willingness to travel regularly (Mon–Thu).
• Enjoy outdoor work and tolerate elements.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to interact well with others.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of transportation infrastructure and ancillary structures.
• Document existing conditions via notes, photos, measurements, and reports.
• Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and other docs.
• Complete accurate daily field documentation and inspection reports.
• Safely operate a company truck and field equipment.
• Work outdoors in varied environments.
• Support inspection projects across Michigan and nearby regions.
