Job summary

HF Sinclair Midstream in Artesia, NM is seeking a Field Technician to learn and perform safe operation of crude oil, terminal assets, and gathering systems. This entry-level role develops skills through supervised tasks and structured training within a defined geographic area.

Operations include inspections, lineups, custody transfer activities as qualified, and routine maintenance. A minimum High School Diploma is required, with preference for oil and gas experience or related work.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in mathematical calculations and measurements.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures and precautions.
• Good mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability.
• Clear written and verbal communication with team and supervisors.
• Ability to read and write basic reports and logs.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist with pipeline, terminal, and crude gathering assets.
• Inspect pipelines, stations, and facilities under supervision.
• Perform mainline valve inspections and right-of-way activities.
• Support terminal operations including lineups, tank rounds, and checks.
• Conduct crude oil gauging, sampling, and custody transfer activities as qualified.
• Carry out routine operational checks and basic preventive maintenance.
• Complete required documentation, inspections, and work records.
• Respond to abnormal conditions under supervision and follow procedures.
• Participate in emergency response training and drills.
