Job Summary:

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. This includes diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:

1. Repair equipment and components, including:
   • Developing a repair plan and sequence
   • Determining necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
   • Performing repairs properly and safely, with quality assurance testing of the repaired component or system and machine
2. Complete all reports legibly and timely for parts ordering, tooling usage, daily service reports, and work order closure
3. Communicate repair progress with supervisor as required
4. Manage parts and materials through the company’s parts ordering system
5. Handle special tools through the company’s Tool Room, maintaining proper care and use of tools and major shop equipment
6. Use company vehicle, service truck, and fuel cards responsibly
7. Maintain a clean and safe work area and service vehicle
8. Keep tools and tool carriers in safe, productive, and updated condition
9. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
10. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager

Education, Experience, Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

The role requires sitting, standing, walking, and manual handling activities such as reaching, climbing, kneeling, and lifting. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

The work involves exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, weather extremes, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
