Job summary

JDC Power Systems, LLC is seeking a skilled field service technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems on-site, including LV/MV switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and PLC controls. You will work at customer sites in Sterling, VA and travel as needed.

You will run tests, interpret results, commission new or upgraded systems, and be the primary technical contact during visits, explaining findings and providing basic training while documenting activities in our ERP.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years field experience with power systems, electrical equipment, or industrial controls.
• Diagnostic mindset with strong problem-solving and customer communication.
• Comfort with field service software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel/Word.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems on-site: LV/MV switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and PLC controls.
• Run tests, interpret results, and perform corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Commission new or upgraded systems and validate performance to spec.
• Be the customer’s primary technical contact during visits; explain findings and provide basic training.
• Document activities thoroughly via field service tools and ERP.
• Use remote diagnostic tools when feasible to resolve or triage issues faster.
