Job summary

Lumen Technologies is hiring a Field Technician II to install, test, and maintain network equipment across NY regions. The role involves troubleshooting, decommissioning, and provisioning services such as Edge Compute and Wavelength, with exposure to fiber and transport gear.

Strong attention to safety and documentation is required. Applicants should have a high school diploma, 2+ years in telecom fieldwork, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience installing, testing and turning up telecom equipment (SONET, DCS, DWDM, routers, switches).
• Strong technical and mechanical background with experience on transport gear and critical infrastructure.
• Must have PC skills and be comfortable with Microsoft Windows/Office.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots network equipment and replaces defective parts to restore service.
• Performs installation/change/decommissioning and testing of NG technologies (Edge Compute, Wavelength, Fiber, Ethernet, IP).
• Ensures asset management and on-site material replenishment; maintains tools and equipment.
