Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in El Paso, TX. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday (40 hours) with overtime eligibility based on business needs.

Pay range is $23.75–$29.70 per hour, plus potential quarterly branch bonus. Perks include uniforms, boot allowance, free equipment rental, and health benefits after one month. The role requires 1–3 years of diesel mechanic experience in construction equipment or rental, with strong hydraulic, electrical and diesel engine

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic in construction equipment or rental background.
• Intermediate experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engines on heavy equipment.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing malfunctions and repairs.
• Must have the basic tool set needed to perform equipment repairs.
• Willing to learn and grow with training on new equipment and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems on heavy equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and service to keep equipment in manufacturer spec.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and repair equipment in a safe, efficient manner.
• Inspect equipment, tests performance, and ensure quality workmanship.
• Be open to training and learning new technology to stay current.

Position Requirements

• Attention to detail inspecting, servicing, and testing equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
• Basic understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
• Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards performing equipment repairs.
