Job Summary:

The Field Technician II will inspect, test, and maintain High, Medium, and Low electrical power equipment. Technicians will work with electrical equipment, such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and switches both manual and motor operated. They will implement safety policies.

Responsibilities
  • Perform entry-level testing of High, Medium, and Low electrical power equipment without the need for direct assistance while working with Sr Technicians.
  • Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and optimize equipment function.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports of tests, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Successful criminal background check.
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel out of town.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with voltage verification, contact resistance, insulation resistance, test equipment setup, reading one-line drawings, understanding equipment identification and hazards.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical theory, LOTO, arc flash, grounding, schematic reading, and testing equipment.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or military experience preferred.
  • 2-4 years relevant industry experience.
  • NETA II Certification.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, lift up to 70 lbs.
