Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking a Field Technician I to join the Water Asset Management team in Charlotte. You will provide field support, conduct leak detection, perform data collection, complete forms, and assist project managers with daily reports.

The role requires walking up to 10 miles per day, lifting 20 lbs, a valid driver's license, and basic Map/GIS knowledge. Prior water distribution experience is a plus; you will work in varied environments with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with Water Distribution Systems and/or Acoustic Leak Detection desirable but not required.
• Must be able to walk up to 10 miles per day with frequent bending and lift up to 20 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Experience in Map/GIS information reading, interpreting, and measuring preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides appropriate technical support and best practice methodology to operational teams.
• Communicates daily with the WAM Project Manager or Operations Supervisor.
• Conducts non-revenue water recovery and control services including leak detection.
• Progresses in the industry and use of equipment within Water Asset Management.
• Coordinates and schedules weekly activities with Operations Supervisor.
• Completes job forms, time sheets and all required documentation.
• Ensures safe working methods and participates in weekly safety meetings.
• Responsible for Map/GIS information reading, interpreting, and measuring.
• Attends site meetings with clients as needed.
• Responsible for equipment upkeep and quarterly stock checks.
• Performs or assists with daily, weekly and end-of-project reports.
