The role supports higher-level Technicians and Engineers in the Marion Resident Engineer's Office, focusing on construction inspection, surveying, materials sampling, testing, and traffic control. Responsibilities include performing various tests and data processing, maintaining detailed records, and other assigned duties.

Qualified applicants must demonstrate:

• Experience in construction inspection for compliance with contracts, standards, and codes.
• Proficiency in maintaining daily records and reports.
• Knowledge of standards, specifications, and plan reading.
• Skills in using computer equipment, iPads, and related software.
• Experience in sampling and testing materials like concrete and asphalt to ensure industry compliance.

Additional expectations include: general knowledge of surveying methods, equipment, materials, and mathematical functions such as algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to interpret construction plans, contract provisions, and inspection procedures. Good note-taking and communication skills are essential. Safety toe shoes are required.

An associate’s degree in civil engineering technology, Survey Technology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
