Job summary

EPS is seeking a Field Technician I to inspect, test, and maintain electrical power equipment across high, medium, and low voltage systems. The role involves hands-on work with SF6 & vacuum breakers, transformers, grounding, and instrument transformers in diverse facilities.

The position requires ability to travel, overtime, and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Competitive pay and a strong training program are offered to develop expertise in electrical testing and safety.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform entry level testing of high, medium, and low electrical power equipment under supervision.
  • Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning.
  • Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components in a substation.

Pay:$40-45/hr

Job Summary:

The Field Technician I will inspect, test, and maintain High, Medium, and Low electrical power equipment. Technicians will work with electrical equipment, such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and variance of switches both manual and motor operated.

Responsibilities
  • Performing entry level testing of High, Medium, and Low electrical power equipment under supervision.
  • Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning.
  • Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components in a substation.
Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
  • Able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience with the following:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Voltage Verification
  • Contact Resistance
  • Insulation Resistance
  • Test Equipment Set Up
  • Read and Understand One-Line Drawings
  • Understand equipment identification and hazards associated with them

Education and Experience:

  • 0–1 year Industry Experience or 2 Year Technical Degree
Physical Requirements
  • Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, able to lift 70 lbs.
