Job summary

Thompson Tractor Company is seeking a Field Technician to service and repair earthmoving equipment in the field and shop environments. The role requires troubleshooting skills, on‑the‑job training completion, and a strong commitment to customer service and efficient problem solving.

Advancement in Technician classification depends on attitude, skill development, and performance. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license; MVR is required; Med Card and CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of mechanical repair experience or equivalent technical education.
• Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills is required.
• Med Card and CDL preferred.
• MVR is required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards and procedures.
• Plans and performs minor repairs using correct tools.
• Removes, disassembles, and reassembles engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical components as needed for service.
• Performs preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrates proper use of service information systems.
• Orders and returns parts for assigned jobs promptly.
• Tests and adjusts components for optimal performance.
• Works independently in the field and in shop environments.
