Job summary

Lonestar Forklift in Fort Worth, Texas, is seeking a mechanically inclined Field Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive) to join our Service team. You will diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on a variety of material handling equipment for our loyal customers.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to diverse repair tasks, coordinate with the Service Dispatcher, order parts, and document work orders while upholding safety policies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of material handling equipment repair/diagnostic experience.
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is an asset.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts.
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
• High school diploma

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing, repairing, and completing routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery.
• Maintaining effective and consistent communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing Service jobs, and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Discussing Service job details with customers and communicating a clear understanding of the job scope and repair requirements.
• Communicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered, and preparing required parts before visiting job sites.
• Maintaining proper documentation where needed, including work order forms and warranty paperwork.
• Reporting any safety incidents promptly and adhering to all safety policies.
