Job summary

Zipline is hiring a Ground Systems Field Technician to install, commission, maintain, and document electrical, network, and mechanical systems that keep field sites operational. You will own site work quality from installation through maintenance and ensure sites are commissioned to standard and remain reliable for autonomous operations.

You will collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams, document troubleshooting steps, and ensure records are accurate.

Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge for installations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot time-sensitive problems and adapt to changes.
  • Work outdoors year-round in varying weather.
  • Valid U.S. driver''s license; able to lift up to 55 pounds.
  • Shifts include days/evenings/weekends; up to 20% travel, 80%+ training travel.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, commission, and quality-check ground-system installations at new Zipline sites, including electrical and network systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic electrical, network, system, and site faults within the defined scope.
  • Perform maintenance and upgrades to improve uptime and reliability.
  • Document and track issues with engineering and cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain records of site surveys, installations, maintenance actions, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Manage accountability programs for tools, calibration equipment, and vehicles.
  • Follow safety protocols and contribute improvements to installation standards and guides.
