Job summary

ProPetro is seeking a Field Technician - Recip Operator in Columbus, OH to operate and maintain gas reciprocating engine packages used in power generation. You will monitor operations, perform routine checks, and respond to abnormalities to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous performance.

The role involves coordinating with the Remote Operations Center, evaluating readiness after shutdowns, and leading troubleshooting across interfaces while maintaining logs and strict safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum experience in gas turbine operations or electrical systems.
• Experience with gas reciprocating engine packages preferred.
• CAT gas engine experience preferred.
• Ability to read electrical and control drawings.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of 12+ hour shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally.
• Must follow safety rules and use PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations of gas engine packages and related equipment.
• Monitor control panels, gauges, and instruments for optimal performance.
• Coordinate with Remote Operations Center for fault-finding and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate operational readiness after shutdown events and assist with readiness evaluations.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts on equipment and interfaces.
• Apply software to improve operational efficiency.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of power generation assets.
• Maintain daily logs and accurate records of operations and maintenance.
• Maintain housekeeping in power generation areas and adhere to HSE policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
