Job summary

ProPetro Services, Inc is seeking a Field Technician - Recip Operator to operate and maintain gas reciprocating engine packages used in power generation. You will monitor operational parameters, respond to abnormalities, and coordinate with the Remote Operations Center to ensure safe and efficient performance.

You will read electrical drawings, communicate clearly, and work 12+ hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of gas turbine operations or electrical experience.
  • Experience with gas reciprocating engine packages preferred.
  • CAT gas engine experience preferred.
  • Able to read electrical and control drawings.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of 12+ hour shifts including days/nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must work safely in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe, continuous operations of engine packages and related equipment.
  • Monitor control panels, gauges, and instruments for optimal performance.
  • Coordinate with Remote Operations Center for fault-finding support.
  • Evaluate equipment readiness after shutdown events and assist turbine readiness evaluation.
  • Maintain housekeeping in power generation areas.
  • Follow safety rules, SOPs, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain daily logs and accurate operation/maintenance records.
  • Lead troubleshooting on equipment and interfaces.
  • Utilize available software for operational efficiency.
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of power generation assets.
  • Perform external visual checks and walk-around inspections.
  • Adhere to HSE policies and attend required trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary
Job Description

The Field Technician - Recip Operator for PROPWR is responsible for the operation and maintenance of gas reciprocating engine packages used in power generation operations. This role involves monitoring power generation operations, conducting routine checks, and responding to any abnormalities in asset performance to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operations of gas reciprocating engine packages and related equipment.
  • Monitor control panels, gauges, and other instruments to ensure optimal turbine performance and operational parameters.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Remote Operations Center for fault-finding support and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate the operational readiness of equipment after shut-down events and assist with the evaluation of readiness of gas turbines and related equipment.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in power generation operational areas.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and operations by adhering to company standards and policies, conducting work in accordance with safety rules, standard operating procedures, and workplace policies.
  • Maintain daily verification of operational log completion and maintain accurate records of operations and maintenance activities.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts on equipment and interfaces.
  • Understand and apply available software for operational efficiency.
  • Aid in the development and implementation of power generation efficiencies.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of power generation assets and related equipment.
  • Perform external visual checks of equipment, including walk-around inspections.
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • CAT gas engine experience preferred
  • Able to read electrical and control drawings
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to safely operate and maintain assigned equipment during a 12+ hour work shift that will include days or nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to perform duties safely in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to work closely with others and under time-sensitive deadlines, which may include emergency response situations
  • Must be physically able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shift
  • Must be physical able to occasionally lift or move up to 80 pounds
  • Responsive, action oriented
