Lonestar Forklift in Fort Worth, Texas is seeking a mechanically inclined Field Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive) to join our Service team. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain material handling equipment and coordinate with parts and service staff.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing, repairing, and performing routine maintenance and safety inspections on equipment.
• Communicating with the Service Dispatcher about ongoing jobs and completing tasks timely.
• Discussing service job details with customers and clarifying repair requirements.
• Coordinating with Parts to order and prepare required parts before site visits.
• Maintaining documentation such as work orders and warranty paperwork.
• Reporting safety incidents promptly and following safety policies.

The Opportunity

Lonestar Forklift is looking for a mechanically inclined Field Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive) to join our Service team in Fort Worth, Texas. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to a variety of machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

As a Field Technician your key responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing, repairing, and completing routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery
• Maintaining effective and consistent communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing Service jobs, and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Discussing Service job details with customers and communicating a clear understanding of the job scope and repair requirements
• Communicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered, and preparing required parts before visiting job sites
• Maintaining proper documentation where needed, including work order forms and warranty paperwork
• Reporting any safety incidents promptly and adhering to all safety policies

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

• At least 5 years of material handling equipment repair/diagnostic experience
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is an asset
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• High school diploma
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites in the region is required

The base pay range for this role is: $35.00 - $39.00 per hour, depending on experience.

This is an onsite role based in Fort Worth, Texas.
