Job summary

DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations is seeking a Field Technician to support Factory-Built Substation installations from planning through commissioning. You will be the main technical liaison among customers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure safe, efficient work in diverse field environments.

Responsibilities include pre-construction planning, on-site installation support, inspections, training, and post-installation feedback.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel.
Minimum 3 years of experience with DTPS.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work across departments and with multiple teams.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Reliable, professional and with good judgment.
Ability to work independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

Review project scope, site conditions, and installation requirements with the Project Manager.
Prepare customer installation packets and project documentation.
Coordinate travel and installation readiness.
Develop and maintain pre-construction checklists for readiness.
Lead pre-construction meetings and document action items.
Travel to customer job sites to support installations.
Provide technical support by explaining drawings, procedures, and troubleshooting issues.
Develop field reports and lessons learned for internal teams.
