Job summary

Miller Environmental Group is seeking a Field Laborer / Technician to join our environmental services team in Rock Tavern, NY. This hands-on role involves cleanup, decontamination, spill response, and basic remediation under supervision, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

The position is full-time, outdoors, with long shifts and on-call emergency response. Starting pay is $20+ per hour, with overtime and weekend multipliers; company-provided benefits include medical, 401(k) match,

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age (or 21+ in some locations)
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license (non-CDL)
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and perform heavy physical labor
• Outdoor work in extreme weather
• Work in confined spaces, at heights, uneven terrain
• Willingness to get dirty and work extended hours
• Able to wear respirators and meet OSHA requirements
• Fit-for-duty physical, drug/alcohol screen, background check

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental cleanup, decontamination and remediation under supervision
• Assist with spill response and emergency deployments
• Handle and transport contaminated materials per regulations
• Wear and maintain PPE and work safely
• Work 8–12+ hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Participate in on-call emergency response
• Support equipment setup, site prep and material handling
• Maintain basic site records and daily safety briefings
