Job summary

Alarm Systems Inc. in Quincy, IL seeks a motivated low voltage alarm/security technician to diagnose and repair alarm systems, troubleshoot access control and intrusion systems, and install CCTV, burglary, and fire alarm solutions for residential and commercial clients.

This full-time, on-site role requires physical stamina, ability to lift 50 pounds, travel as needed (up to 50%), and occasional weekend on-call. Benefits include health, dental, life insurance, 401(k) and PTO.

Qualifications

• Experience in security installation, maintenance, or related fields beneficial but not required.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Ability to handle a physically demanding workload.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and pull wires.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and electrical documents.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair alarm systems.
• Troubleshoot and configure access control and intrusion systems.
• Install and repair CCTV, burglary, and fire alarm systems.
• Readjust equipment, repair, or replace equipment and test operation.
• Travel overnight as needed to repair, install, and test equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on systems.
• Run and terminate low voltage cable.
• Identify risks to customers and provide effective solutions.
• Respond to customer service calls and maintenance visits.
